Export Control, Sanctions and End-Use

SevHas Systems supplies a defence capability. Products, technology, software, training and technical assistance may be controlled. This page explains how we approach that. It is not export-control advice to the reader.

The controls that may apply. United Kingdom controls include the Export Control Act 2002, the Export Control Order 2008, the assimilated Dual-Use Regulation, and the UK Strategic Export Control Lists. A component or technical input of foreign origin may also carry a foreign control. Training and technical assistance are treated as a transfer of technology where the control lists say so. Sanctions imposed by the United Kingdom, and other sanctions we are obliged to apply, are screened before an engagement proceeds.

What we require. We supply only to a customer we have qualified. Before any supply we may require the identity of the end user, a description of the end use, the destination, the identity of any consignee or intermediary, and a signed end-user undertaking. We may ask for further documents. We screen the parties against the lists we are obliged to apply. We may repeat those checks during an engagement.

What we will not do. We do not supply where the end use is unlawful. We do not supply where a party or a destination is sanctioned. We do not supply where a licence is required and has not been granted. We do not supply where we are not satisfied with the end user or the end use. We may stop an engagement at any stage, including after an enquiry has been acknowledged.

Your own duty. If you are a customer, re-export and in-country transfer may be your responsibility as well as ours. You must tell us if the end user, end use or destination changes.
